Day 1 Arrival Moscow
You will arrive in Moscow and be picked up from the airport and brought to your hotel. During the day you can explore the city (depending on the flight times). Be sure to walk through illuminated Moscow in the evening. A breathtaking sight and you will be amazed at how much there is to do in lively Moscow.
Day 2 Moscow
Today you start exploring Moscow with a guided city walk to get a good introduction to the Russian capital. It is very nice to explore the city centre while walking. You will pass the Red Square, St. Basil's Cathedral, GUM department store, Lenin's mausoleum, Bolshoi theatre, Tverskaya street). Of course we recommend a visit to the kremlin, where the heart of power in Russia lies. Many cities in Russia have a kremlin, a fortified settlement where both the rulers and the religious leaders are based. The kremlin in Moscow is of course the most famous kremlin in Russia and a must-see during your visit to Moscow.
(note; there are different tickets available to visit the kremlin, depending on how many sites inside you prefer to see). The visit to the kremlin itself is not included in the tour!
Day 3 Moscow
A day to explore Moscow by yourself. Recommended visits are the Tretyakov gallery with its world famous collection of icons, or the Novodevich monastery, one of the most famous in Russia.
Of course you should make a trip by metro, one of the highlights of a visit to Moscow. Many stations are sights in themselves and will take you back to the communist past.

You can also do endless shopping in Moscow, or enjoy a delicious meal in one of the many top restaurants. Or just stroll down the street and let Russian city life affect you
Day 4 Moscow - Sergiev Posad
You will start your tour along the Golden Ring, the circle of ancient monasteries and kremlin's around Moscow.
One of the most famous places is the monastery complex of Sergiev Posad, also known as the monastery of the Holy Trinity and the Holy Sergei.
This complex, which is located about 73 km outside Moscow, is considered by the Russians to be the Russian Vatican.
Sergiev Posad is the headquarter of the Russian church and one of the largest monasteries in the country. The monastery with its golden domes makes a fairytale impression and is definitely worth a visit, if only because of the precious icons that hang there. Famous icon painters such as Andrey Rubliev and Daniel Chorny have famous icons hanging here. You will also find the Troitse-Sergieva Lavra Monastery.
Day 5 Sergiev Posad - Suzdal
You continue to Suzdal. Along the way you will pass several villages, full of picturesque wooden houses with colourful frames.
Suzdal is perhaps the most beautiful city along the Golden Ring. Here you really get the feeling that you are walking around in medieval Russia. Around the Kamenka River are many ancient monasteries, churches, but also the characteristic izbas (wooden houses). You will walk through the town, visit the kremlin from the 11th century, the 19th century marketplace (Torgovaya plosjad) and various monasteries.
Day 6 Suzdal - Vladimir
On the way to Vladimir you will make a stop at Bogolyubovo. This ancient church (Tserkov Pokrova na Nerli) is known as the 'most perfect' of all Russian churches and is a model for all subsequent built churches. The church itself looks quite simple, but its location is idyllic, in the countryside by the water.

Vladimir is one of the larger cities along the Golden Ring. Famous sights are the Uspenski Cathedral and the Cathedral of St. Demitrius, both of which were built in the 12th century. The cathedral of St. Demitrius has been closed to the public for the past 30 years, but nowadays this cathedral can also be admired from the inside. The Uspenski Cathedral is very beautiful. The golden domes and high bell tower can be seen from afar. The inside is decorated with murals by famous Russian painters. Vladimir's largest museum - The Chambers - is located next to the cathedral.
Day 7 Vladimir - Moscow
Today it's farewell to the Golden Ring and back to Moscow. Here you can spend a last evening in the Russian capital.
Day 8 depart Moscow
